Our friends at the Northeast Organic Farming Association of New York are gearing up now for their Third Annual New York Locavore Challenge, which kicks off next month. To encourage folks to “vote with your dollar,” the fun includes a 250-mile eating locally challenge (you get to cheat on spices and 5 can’t-be-sourced-locally items). And this year they’ve come up with a 30-day, 30-challenges calendar with daily feats like “create a meal using local grains” or “swap sugar for local honey and maple syrup.” Register for the Locavore Challenge here, find out how to participate here or print your own 30-day calendar o’ challenges here.
